Default What is new?

So I had been playing Guild Wars since the beginning of its actual release (not during the beta) but since it first released. So I was around for awhile. I quit rather recently, right after they let out the new "Armor Storage" and "Personal Zoo" stuff.

I'm looking to get back into the game, so I'm installing it now. But I wanted to simply ask, what is new?

Not looking for exact specifics, but more like what is the meta, both in PvP and PvE and such? Doing research right now on Wiki and such but I just kind of wanted a general outline from the folks here, thanks (:

Not much is new since April. Few skill changes, general ranting.

Something that is coming in the near future is Sealed Deck format, you can more about it here:

Okay, I just read about the whole "Sealed Deck" format, and it seems great that it will fix the horrible TA meta, but it was a lot to take in, what actually does "Sealed Deck" compose of? What makes it different then a normal 4 vs 4 match such as that in TA?

I'm not most educated person for Sealed Deck, but what I do know is that your skillbar is given a random selection of skills when you enter a match. So you have to work together with your team to win. Like I said I don't know too much, so that might be a little vague.

Wow, that sounds rather intricate. So you choose your team, but you are each just kind of given a random "build" to use?

More information on the format:
http://www.guildwars.com/competitive/sealedplay/

You are given a random selection of skills that you can trade with teammates and make your skill bar.

Basically you will gather together your team of 4 people, and upon entering the Sealed Deck arena I believe you will be given a specific "deck" of skills you can use. I'm not sure how often the deck of skills would be changed (daily, weekly, monthly), but you and your team will be charged with attempting to utilize the skills in those decks and arrange them into the most competent builds you can make. I dunno about the official format GW will use, but sometimes you can only use each skill in the deck once across all 4 of your team's bars, and sometimes each skill is given a point value, and you are only allowed a certain number of each point value on your individual bar (so elites would be 3 points, some skills 2, and some skills 1 point, etc).

This sounds like a huge update in terms of PvP changes. I've actually never heard of this system so it is a very new concept to me. It really sounds like it could be a very unique thing for the world of PvP though and I'm excited to see that they have done something to change the horrible meta that ruled over TA.

According to the Linsey info in Regina's latest post, it doesn't sound like it will be this week.

Considering this weekend is "Area Bonus Weekend" which will give you extra points from TA and RA, I think that implies it will not come until at least after this weekend.

It might, considering RA is still around.
